Welcome to Max Patches for GripBeats®! 

Introduction
There are various ways in which GripBeats® can be used to make music such as through directly Bluetooth (BLE MIDI) connection to your laptop/device/PC, or via an intermediary program such as the GripBeats® Desktop App, or even using Max.

Max is a separate free programming software used to design various visual and music controls for MIDI devices such as GripBeats®. The team at GripBeats® has taken the liberty of creating a number of new ways of creating music using GripBeats® we call concepts or Max patches which now you can try. The steps to get started are quite straightforward:

1. First, install Max to your device for free (from here) or search Max 9 on the official cycling74.com website. 
   
2. Open the designated Patch file you would like to try (downloadable from this page). A video demonstration has been made for each Patch to let you get an idea of what to expect for each.

1. Grab Patch

Capture sound by grabbing. Use motion controls to explore the recorded audio through granular playback.

2. GyroHarp

Wave your hand to strum a virtual harp and grip to sustain notes.

3. GyroGuitar

 Use two GripBeats devices to play a virtual guitar. Played in a natural guitar strumming position, the left hand controls chords while the right hand strums.

4. SynthLab

Explore synthesis and electronic music composition using GripBeats. Get started using the built-in presets or start from scratch to create your own unique sounds and tracks.
